About the Department
Staff from the Academic Department of Surgery are based on all three of the School's main campuses. Headed by
Professor Kevin Burnand, the Department provides surgical teaching to undergraduate medical students and postgraduate training in basic and advanced surgical skills.
Department staff's research interests contribute to the research programmes of the School's Cardiovascular Division.
